Dawson Street Kitchen
Brunswick West
At Dawson Street, an outdated 1970s kitchen no longer reflected the way its owners wished to live. The brief was to create a fresh, contemporary space that embraced modern functionality while introducing subtle retro influences. The result is a kitchen that feels timeless, uplifting and perfectly suited to the next chapter of the owners' lives.
A restrained all-white palette creates a light-filled backdrop that immediately lifts the interior, allowing natural daylight to become one of the room's defining characteristics. The original hardwood flooring was carefully re-sanded and sealed, introducing warmth, texture and a sense of continuity that anchors the contemporary cabinetry within the home's existing character.
The reconfigured layout introduces generous bench space, improved circulation, abundant storage and carefully considered display shelving, ensuring every aspect of the room supports effortless everyday living. Practical fittings and thoughtful planning allow the kitchen to function beautifully while maintaining a calm and uncluttered aesthetic.
