Cliveden Project

Mount Macedon

Nestled amongst the magnificent gardens and towering trees of Mount Macedon, Cliveden transformed a modest 1970s dwelling into a warm and enduring country retreat. Designed for owners entering a new stage of life, the renovation sought to improve comfort, accessibility and connection to the surrounding landscape while respecting the home's existing character.

The kitchen was relocated to become the social heart of the home, bathrooms were enlarged and re-planned, and bespoke joinery introduced to display books and artwork. Significant thermal upgrades, including insulation and double glazing, dramatically improved year-round comfort.

Travertine, natural timber, brushed copper and restored hardwood flooring reflect the earthy colours of the Macedon landscape, creating interiors that feel authentic and quietly luxurious. The result is a home that celebrates its setting while offering effortless daily living, warmth and longevity.
